NABA provides recreational programs for children and teens with vision impairments. These programs are designed to expose the youth to new and fun activities, and also to give the youth a chance to learn and experience the same recreational opportunities as sighted youth. Adaptations are made to make all activities accessible for those with vision impairments.
The program is a combination of educational, rehabilitation, and recreational activities. The program exposes the youth to such activities as, horseback riding, nature hikes, martial arts instruction, musical theory, daily living skills instruction, and orientation and mobility skills. Currently, NABA holds these recreational programs during the summer and throughout the year during school breaks or on weekends.
