KIDSIGHT VISION SCREENING HELPS SAVE CHILD’S SIGHT

“I firmly believe that the KidSight program is what saved David’s vision. We never had any reason to think there was an issue with his vision…If Kathryn hadn’t come into the school that day, I don’t know if we would have found out about David until much later and at that point, his prognosis and outcome might not have been so positive. KidSight is an incredible program….” ~Lori Bosworth
Screening over 3500 children a year, the KidSight program is a free vision screening program that NABA has provided since 1998. KidSight screens children between the ages of 18 months up to 6 years old who attend childcare or preschool classes in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Schenectady, and Saratoga Counties. Studies have shown that 62% of America’s pre-school children have never received a complete eye examination. One in every 20 children under the age of 5 suffers from a serious vision problem that could lead to permanent damage if not corrected early.
